USA - San Francisco & Sacramento - Jim & Rosslyn

In June the task was final planning and packing for the overseas trip....

Well below is the "train" (model and 12" to the foot) related activities....

San Francisco

Nappa Valley Wine Train

We took the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) to Embarcadero Station then walked to the Ferry Building before boarding the ferry to Vallejo where we boarded a California Wine Tour Bus to Nappa. The Nappa Wine Train Terminal was exceptionally good, all staff were very courteous and friendly, we could not find fault with anything - we recommend it.

We sat at a private table in the Ex Northern Pacific Pullman Vista Dome coach where we were greeted with a glass of Champagne followed by an amazing meal and finally were introduced to the chief as we left the train.

Cable Cars

We took the Cable Car to China Town...

Heritage Street Cars

We rode on a few during various outings...

Amtrak to Sacramento

A ground level platform at Emeryville so lift the bags at the coach door and stow downstairs in the luggage rack then up the stairs to the upper level seats. The trip up the coastal route was interesting one thing to see a video another to ride the rails.

Sacramento

 Museum

We spent the afternoon walking around the museum and had a great time.  Seeing the AC-12 up close and personal was a great experience.

The first of a few updates on the trip....
